The Promise Keeper

By Jason Doll

God is a promise-giver and a promise-keeper! All through the Bible, it is filled with confirmation of God’s promises. There are stories about how He kept His word to fulfilling his people with something greater. There is a faithfulness of God in keeping His promises. Hebrews 10:23 tells us, “God is faithful in keeping with His promises.” (NLT)

In Titus 1:1-2, Paul refers to God as one who never lies and one who cannot lie. Paul is saying that God keeps His promises always. Paul writes about God’s promise of eternal life and that through faith He will fulfill promises He has for our lives. Throughout the Bible, time and time again, we read about God fulfilling His promises. He is a promise keeper.

God wants to do great things for you. God has a plan for you and He promises He will do His part to fulfill it. He wants to bless you and promote you to a greater future with joy, hope and victory in your life. He wants to work wondrous works in you and bring a greater fulfillment in your life. God wants to bless you and bring something greater into your life. In the Bible, God worked wonders marvels, keeping His promises to His faithful children. And the Lord wants to work wonders in your life. You cannot fathom what God has in store for your life. You have not even seen a fraction of His blessings that He wants to offer you. In Jeremiah 29:11-12, it tells us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Life is filled with an amazing amount of opportunities to achieve extraordinary accomplishments and success. God wants to bless you with an inheritance of His blessings. He wants to promote your life to something greater; He wants to fill you with His love and happiness. God wants us to live our lives to the fullest. Psalm 37:23 says “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.”

God promises that He “will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” – Psalm 84:11. God promises you! He promises if you will do what is right, if you will be faithful to Him, He will fulfill His promises. He loves you and wants to do great things in your life. He wants to bless you abundantly. He knows you and everything you need before you ever know you are in need. He knew you before you were born. You are loved more than you will ever know by the Creator of the Universe – by God Almighty. “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” Isaiah 49:16

God has promises for you as His Child and He will fulfill those promises. God has given us promises that we can rely on when we are in need of comfort and assurance. These promises were made by a loving Heavenly Father and it is very comforting to know that God loves us and He ALWAYS keeps His promises. When praying to the Father, take His promises before Him.

  1. 1. I am with you always (Matthew 28:20) I will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb 13:5, Joshua 1:5) 3. And this is what he promises us–even eternal life. (1 John 2:25)

  2. I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you… (Jeremiah 29:11)

  3. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. (Isaiah 40:29)

  4. I will never leave you, nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)

  5. I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.” (John 6:47)

  6. Draw near to me and I will draw near to you (James 4:8) 7. Blessed are those who thirst after righteousness (Matthew 5:6) 8. Nothing can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:38-39)

The Lord is faithful in keeping His word to us. There may be times where we may not always understand when or how God will fulfill His promise, but He always will. Our timing is not always God’s timing, but God knows when we should receive His favor and blessings. His time is always perfect. God knows what He is doing. When things don’t seem to be falling in order, be assured that they are actually falling perfectly into place. We need to exercise faith and patience to inherit those promises. To remind you to keep trusting that God, will bring His word to pass in your life, read Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (NKJV)

God always has an appointed time for everything. We have to understand that God’s timing is the perfect timing. His promises come at the perfect time. In the Bible, we read about many examples of people whose dreams got delayed much longer than they wanted. Look at Abraham in the Bible. God promised Abraham a baby, but it took many, many years until he was an old man before that dream came to pass. Nevertheless, it wasn’t in Abraham’s time frame, it was in God’s. Solomon says, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1.

God’s timing is always perfect. The Word of God declares in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” God is neither slow nor too quick – He is always on time. And we must learn to trust His timing, no matter how hard it seems to be. We have to trust that God will fulfill His promises in the right moment and in the best way. When your set time comes, everything God has promised will be fulfilled in your life. So don’t be discouraged. He has not forgotten you.

When you place your trust and life in God’s hands, amazing things WILL happen! When God is your provider, He will provide all that you need to grow to bring great victory and joy into your life. All His promises to you He will fulfill. In His time, He will provide you the necessities you need to fulfill the dreams He has planted deep within your heart. If you will put your trust in God, He will bring great things to your life! Psalms 33:21-22 tells us, “For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.”

In the book of Matthew 6 & 7 we learn that God our Father will supply our needs if we are faithful. This is His promise. He promises that He will provide for you. Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” We can’t even imagine the kind of Father He truly is. “how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:11”. God will provide for His children , He will provide all your needs!

When you let God direct your steps, when you let Him be your foundation, nothing can move you from the victory He has in store for you. When He is your foundation, when He directs your steps, you will find great joy and hope in all that you do and all that you are. “I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.” Psalms 16:8-9

Hebrews 6:13-20 tells the story of Abraham and how God promised to bless Abraham. The Lord promised Abraham that He would fulfill what seemed impossible. And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised. God is a promise keeper, even in the impossible.

God is the Promise-Keeper to His faithful children. He desires to accomplish His will and to fulfill His promises. He can and He will fulfill His promises to you no matter what obstacles are in front of you. What seems impossible to us, is possible to Him. He is the creator of the universe and He can alter the rotation of the earth provide for you. The Bible contains several stories where God did great work and fulfilled His promises to His faithful children. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 46:9-10, “I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure.”

Do you know the bumblebee, by all scientific data, shouldn’t be able to fly? By all scientific logic, it should be impossible to fly. They did all these aeronautical studies on the bumblebee and how its body is too big for its little wings. The laws of nature are defined by the power of God Almighty. The bumblebee doesn’t care that scientist say it is impossible. When God told that bumblebee to fly, it just flies – it defies the law of nature.

If we look at the natural circumstances, in the natural, none of your dreams may come to pass. Sometimes things may look impossible in the natural; but if we trust God, if we will get up and press on through the hardships, doubts and hurdles, God can do the supernatural. With God, all things are possible.

God is always with you! This is His promise. He loves you. He wants to bless you and do wonderful things for you. No matter what you are facing, no matter where you are, no matter how alone you feel, God is with you! Your Heavenly Father will never leave you. He wants to shower you with blessings and bring great joy into your life. Place your heart in His hands. Zephaniah 3:17 confirms, “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

God has a plan for you! He wants to promote you to a great future. He wants to bring hope and victory into your life. You need to recognize the dreams and goals God has planted deep within you are there because God thinks you are worth it. God has placed seeds of greatness, seeds of victory inside of you because you are highly favored. He has planted small seeds that can become might dreams if you allow God to lead you. If you put your trust in Him, He will fulfill His promises in your life.

Keep the hope of God’s promises in your heart. Know that God will strengthen you, fulfill you, and give you peace, joy and hope. Be confident that God is a promise keeper! The promise from our Heavenly Father is our guaranteed VICTORY!!
