God’s is Always on Time

By Jason Doll

I was driving through Wisconsin visiting a friend when I made a quick stop at a restaurant. While I was there, I was approached by a mid-aged woman who recognized me from my ministry. As we were talking she noticed a cross I was wearing around my neck. In our brief conversation she began telling me of how God had been working in her life. We talked about God’s goodness and His love and as I thought the conversation was ending, she began telling me about something she had been praying about for a while.  She asked me “Jason, I believe in God and trust Him, but why do you think He hasn’t answered my prayer?” I explained to her that she needed to no get frustrated. I told her to hold tight to her prayer request and be confident that God was going to fulfill His promise to her. I told her that if it is God’s will, it will not come when she is ready, but in when God’s is ready. I told her, “Do not worry, God is always on time!”

We all want good things to happen in our lives, but too often we want it now…not later. We think we know when it should happen and when the right time is. When it doesn’t happen our way and in our time, we are tempted to ask, “When, God, when?” We may think we know what is best, how it should happen and when. But the truth is we think – but God knows!

To many times, people get discouraged with God because He does not answer their prayers according to their time table. Like the lady in the restaurant, we pray for God to intervene, or to answer our dreams, and when they do not come to pass how or when we think they should, we get frustrated.

Most of us need to grow in the area of trusting God instead of focusing on the question of “when”. Most of us have at some point questioned God’s timing, how things will come about, or if it is God’s will. If you are constantly questioning God, you are missing out on great joy and peace. It is impossible to be at peace if you’re not trusting God.

We should be reminded of God’s profound wisdom and how He can work all things together to accomplish His will. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.

We need to realize that we don’t know God’s divine plan. We need to realize that we do not know what perfect plan He has in store and we need to begin trusting that God does know every perfect move that needs to be made. We need to stop worrying and start trusting God. Worry will wear you out. Keep your strength in the Lord and He will bring victory into your life.  I finally learned to stop worrying and trust the One who knows all things. I learned to and accept that my timing is not His timing, my way of thinking something should be done may not be the better way. I learned that we prove that we trust God when we refuse to worry and trust God.

We are reassured through the promise of Philippians 4:19, “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”  God has promised to meet all your needs. The Bible tells us that God is “Jehovah-Jireh” translated as the Lord My Provider.  (Gen. 22:14, I John 4:9, Philip 4:19)  God is our provider and He will meet all our needs, but it has to be in His timing, the perfect time.

My wife is an exceptional cook and I love it when she makes chicken.  The timing of God is something like cooking.  A chicken has to be cooked all the way through or otherwise you can become sick. The same is true with God’s timing. If God allowed certain things to happen before they were cooked completely, we could become extremely sick.  Stop trying to take the chicken out of the oven before it is cooked.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”  We must remember that this season is not a season that we created. This is a season that has been created by God Almighty just for us. God wants us to experience His grace, power and presence in a way that we never have before. But we have to experience in His timing and His way.

God never fails you! Put your trust in Him and you shall always find victory in the end. It may not be as quick as you like or how you like, but in will come in His time. You need to believe that whatever you need will show up at the right time, in the right way, from the right person, in the right circumstances.  We need to know that God will deliver in His way and His time.  You need to realize that sometimes the best gift is not getting what you asked for when you ask for it. We all need to learn to be patient.  God will answer your desires, your hopes, your tears, the dreams he has planted in your heart, but He will only answer them if it is in His plan, when it is ready and when the time is right.

Proverbs 16:9 reads, “A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 20:24 tells us, “Man’s steps are ordered by the Lord. How then can a man understand his way? When God directs our paths, He sometimes leads us in ways that do not always make sense to us. His timing may not always makes since as to why it is not now. You have to stop worrying about “why” God hasn’t moved us as quickly as you want and start knowing that God has a perfect time to come through for you. Be reminded today that God has perfect timing. Keep focused on the Lord and hope in the Lord.

Now, more than ever, you need to trust God and trust His timing. There are things that cannot happen for you right now because God is in the process of preparing things to be lined up for you to be victorious. God is lining up the right people, the right events and the right opportunities for you to be victorious in all that God has in store for you.

We must come to the point where we are able to give God thanks – not for everything but in everything. We must choose to trust God and to praise God no matter what. Know today that God is always faithful. He is always true to His promises. As long as you live in accordance with the Word of God, know that God will do all that He promised to do for you…in His perfect time.

Sometimes your dreams may seem beyond your reach, they may seem like there is no human way to reach them, but God will open locked doors, He will make new paths and He can make the impossible possible. Reaching the dreams God plants in your heart brings joy to the Lord!

God is trying to do great things for you, but unless you will open your heart and trust Him, you will miss out on the blessings God has in store for you. It may not be easy, it may not be fast…but victory will come in GOD’s time… which is the perfect time! Go knows what He is doing.

When things seem like they are falling apart, be assured that they are actually falling perfectly into place. If you will stay true to God, He will bring you to victory.
